AACN Conference 2020 Poster Withdrawal

Dear Abstract Presenters,

We appreciate you submitting your work the 18th Annual Conference and Workshops of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN) in Washington, DC. We know a great deal of work goes into these endeavors. We regret circumstances do not allow for your work to be presented this year to the wider neuropsychology community. A virtual format was considered but judged to lack the interactive dynamic critical to a successful poster session. We know this is disappointing but hope you consider submitting future work to the annual AACN conference. In appreciation of your work we wanted to offer 2 options:

1.      Presenters with abstracts accepted for the Scientific Poster Session can opt to present their work at the 2021 AACN Conference in Portland, Oregon. Accepted abstracts will be published in the May 2021 issue of The Clinical Neuropsychologist. No action is needed if you would like to present your already accepted work at the 2021 conference in Portland.

2.      Some presenters may prefer to withdraw their work and submit to another conference before June 2021. If choosing this option we kindly ask that the corresponding author on the original abstract submission go to complete the following abstract withdrawal form by May 1, 2020.

Regardless of the option you choose we encourage authors to include your accepted peer reviewed abstract in your curriculum vitae. Below is example phrasing that could be used. We realize representing your work is important for students and trainees as they apply to training programs and jobs and for neuropsychologists through any annual review, promotion, or tenure process.

Authors (2020). Abstract title. This peer-reviewed abstract presentation was accepted for presentation at the 18th Annual Conference and Workshops of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), Washington, DC, but was not presented due to Covid-19 related conference cancellation.

Finally we would like to thank abstract reviewers for volunteering their time to the peer review process. We could not manage the scientific poster session without their support.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy and look forward to seeing you in Portland, Oregon!

Best,
