It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 24th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology. Program Chair, Dr. Julie Janecek, has assembled an impressive series of workshops and educational events as well as social and networking opportunities that will meet the interests of clinicians, researchers, and educators at all career stages. This year we are happy to welcome our keynote speaker Dr. Shane Bush, who will be speaking on “Journey to Ethical Competence in Clinical Neuropsychology” on Wednesday from 4:00-5:30 PM.

We are excited to offer a broad range of outstanding workshops, covering topics relevant to both clinical and forensic practice. This year’s lineup includes topics such as digital assessment, depositions and courtroom testimony, reliable change indices, bilingualism in pediatric neurosurgery evaluations, value-based care models, the business of neuropsychology, and many more.

We are also happy to announce that our two newest SIGs will have their own programing at the conference. The Brain Injury SIG event is entitled “TBImprov: Using Improvisation Techniques to Enhance Clinical Skills and Behavioral Management” and the Dementia SIG event is entitled “Advances in Alzheimer’s Disease Biomarker Testing: Clinical Applications, Communication Strategies, and Ethical Considerations.” All four SIG events will be taking place on Thursday from 11:15 AM-12:45 PM. This is to accommodate a change in the timing of our Distinguished Neuropsychologist (DNP) Award lecture and reception. As the conference has grown, there have been increasing demands on attendees’ time, especially in the evenings. We have moved the DNP lecture and reception to midday on Friday and arranged the conference schedule to ensure there are no competing events. We hope that this will result in robust and enthusiastic attendance at this signature event, designed to honor one of our own.

As attendees navigate to the registration page, they will see additional changes. To keep up with the exponential rise in costs associated with the conference (e.g., food and beverage, audio/visual), the price of registration has increased. Increases in registration fees are designed to be modest for those registering on or before March 15 ($25) and increase with each registration phase. We have also added a fourth “Last Minute” registration category. This is to incentivize early registration so that the Conference Planning Committee can obtain the most accurate estimates as possible and avoid challenging last minute changes related to space, catering, and other logistical factors. The Conference Planning Committee remains committed to keeping the conference financially accessible to our diverse membership while maintaining the exceptional experience our attendees have come to expect.

The AACN conference is known for its welcoming atmosphere. Even as our numbers grow, the group’s congeniality and sense of community remain strong. We are confident that your time at the meeting will be truly memorable, not only for the exceptional program we have planned, but also for the genuine sense of welcome you’ll experience throughout.
