Brief Program Description

The New Mexico VA in Albuquerque has been training psychologists and neuropsychologists for more than 25 years through our APA Accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship. We are APPCN members with 2 fellowship positions and one internship position that meets Houston Conference criteria. Three full-time staff neuropsychologists provide close and supportive supervision with the full spectrum of adult patient populations. Strengths of the training program include diverse patient populations representing the local Southwestern Native American and Hispanic cultures, didactic series with an emphases on functional neuroanatomy and board certification, opportunity to supervise, and a nurturing atmosphere that promotes growth through challenge and support. Experiences are also available at the University of New Mexico Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Neurology, Psychology, and Neurosciences.
