It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 23rd Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology. Our Program Chair, Dr. Julie Janecek, has assembled an impressive series of workshops and educational events as well as social and networking opportunities that will meet the interests of clinicians, researchers, and educators at all career stages. This year we are happy to introduce two exciting new events. First, Dr. Kira Armstrong will be giving the inaugural kick off Keynote Address on Wednesday afternoon called “Collaborative Feedback Strategies that Stick, Even with Challenging Patients.” Second, we are pleased to offer specialty programing sponsored by the newly formed AACN Early Career Committee taking place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
We are excited by the broad range of excellent workshops being offered, including topics relevant to both clinical and forensic practice. A sample of this year’s workshops include: neuropsychology’s role in supporting medically complex patients transitioning to adulthood; strategies for integrating digital technology in research and practice; social determinants of health and health equity in neuropsychology; electric shock injuries in forensic and clinical neuropsychology; translational neuroethics of neuromodulation in psychiatric populations; an introduction to forensic immigration neuropsychology, translational neuropsychological services pathways for congenital heart failure; and many more! We have no doubt that everyone will find something of interest in this outstanding line-up.
Each year this letter makes note of the welcoming atmosphere of the AACN meeting and each year the meeting lives up to these expectations. As we increase in numbers, the congeniality and fraternity of the group prevails. We are confident that your time at the meeting will be truly memorable, not only for the exceptional program we have planned, but also for the warm sense of welcome you’ll experience throughout.
