Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute offers patients a multidisciplinary approach to care that comprises consultative services, sophisticated diagnostic testing capabilities, and both noninvasive and advanced surgical treatment options. A highly skilled team of more than 40 physicians and 20 advanced practice providers deliver a superior level of care in more than 15 areas of specialty, including brain tumors, epilepsy, functional neurosurgery, headache and facial pain, interventional pain, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease, neuropsychology and behavioral health, rehabilitation, spine surgery and vascular neurology/neurosurgery.
Our neuropsychology department renders outpatient services under the direct consultation, request, and order of physicians from within the organization or from the community. We work closely with neurology and neurosurgery, evaluating individuals with a variety of neurologic and medical conditions, as well as conducting presurgical evaluations, including but not limited to evaluations for patients considering epilepsy and deep brain stimulation surgical candidacy. Neuropsychology services include evaluation and diagnosis.
Job description
The ideal candidate should have experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations, including administration and interpretation of neuropsychological tests, with a wide variety of neurological, neurosurgical, psychiatric, and general medical patients. They should demonstrate ability to function independently without direct clinical supervision, and education patients and families according to neuropsychological findings. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills is beneficial. A minimum of three years of independent clinical practice in neuropsychology is preferred.
Required education/training
· One year predoctoral clinical internship from an APA or CPA accredited program with specialized training in neuropsychology
· Formal 2 year postdoctoral training in adult neuropsychology
· Training consistent with Houston Conference Guidelines
· Must meet the guidelines specified in Division 40 APA for practice in neuropsychology
· PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program
· Licensed or license eligible in Florida
Additional Requirements
· Participates in the requisite continuing education requirements to maintain state of Florida psychological licensure
· Adheres to the American Psychological Association ethical principles of psychologists and Code of Conduct
