1. How do I take a quiz?
First, obtain the article, book, or presentation on which the quiz is based. American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology members may access AACN’s two journals, The Clinical Neuropsychologist and Child Neuropsychology. Books are available from the publisher (Oxford University Press or Psychology Press), or one’s preferred retailer (e.g., Amazon.com). A limited number of free articles are available. After reading each article, simply return to this site and purchase access to the quiz that corresponds to it.
Second, one must register for this site (anyone may register for a free guest account). Users who are already registered simply need to log in. You may then click on the quiz you want to take and click on the Purchase button to purchase it. If you score 80% or higher on a quiz, you will be provided with a link to view your CE certificate.
2. What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
3. What if I do not pass a quiz?
Each user is allowed two attempts per quiz. If you do not pass the first time, you may attempt the quiz again without making another payment. If you do not pass it the second time, you will need to pay to access it again.
4. What benefits are available for AACN members and affiliates?
AACN members and affiliates receive a 25% discount on all CE quizzes. Contact us for the discount code or log into the AACN website. The current discount code appears on the first screen after one logs in. (This is deliberate so that only current AACN members and affiliates have access to the code.) The discount code is also posted from time to time on the AACN community discussion list, which is open to all AACN members and affiliates.
AACN members and affiliates also receive online access to AACN’s two journals, The Clinical Neuropsychologist and Child Neuropsychology, as a benefit of membership.
5. I purchased access to a quiz, but I’m not ready to take it right away. Do the quizzes expire?
Once you have purchased access to a quiz, you generally may take it a time of your choosing. The only exception is when a quiz becomes “inactive.” Our policy is to deactivate a quiz when the journal article on which it is based reaches > 10 years since its publication date. For example, a quiz based on a TCN or CNY article published in 2008 will become inactive beginning in 2019. Quizzes based on books will be deactivated when the book is updated to a newer edition. Importantly, any CE credits earned while a quiz was active will remain in the user’s history and be available for download.
If you purchase a quiz but opt to take it at a later time, you may access the quiz by (1) clicking on the link(s) in your email receipt; or (2) logging into the site and reviewing your purchase history, which includes the quiz link(s).
6. How many CE credits may I earn on this site?
At last count, there were 207 quizzes available on the site, including 80 based on TCN articles, 109 based on CNY articles, 15 based on books, and three based on special presentations. From these sources, it is possible to earn a total of 273.5 CE credits. Users of this site should be sure to check their state or province’s regulations regarding the required number of CE credits per year and any other stipulations. For example, some states or provinces may require a certain number of credits in ethics or cultural diversity. Some also place restrictions on the format (e.g., online vs. in-person).
