Brief Program Description

The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) offers a two year, adult/geriatric-focused, Clinical Neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship within the Department of Neurological Sciences, Neuropsychology Division. The Division includes two fellows (one recruited each year), eight full-time neuropsychologists, one part-time neuropsychologist, six psychometrists, and two administrative assistants. Fellows complete four six-month-long rotations: 1) Movement disorders, 2) Memory disorders, 3) General neurology (including pre-surgical epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuro-oncology, etc.), 4) General medical disorders (including solid organ transplant evaluations and psychiatric disorders). Depending on the trainees' interests and rotations, supervision opportunities exist with all neuropsychology faculty. Residents will receive 2-3 hours per week of individual face-to-face supervision and 2-3 hours per week of didactics. The program emphasizes clinical training with opportunities for clinical research and shadowing other medical providers. The program is designed to ensure that trainees are prepared for future board certification in clinical neuropsychology. UNMC is an APPCN member program and participates in the annual match.
