Clinical Neuropsychologist

Position Summary
The UNC Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) is seeking a full-time adult clinical neuropsychologist to join our existing Neuropsychology faculty. Currently, we have two adult neuropsychologists and one pediatric neuropsychologist, as well as a pediatric post-doctoral fellow.

New faculty will provide neuropsychological assessment and consultation services to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a variety of neurocognitive and neurobehavioral impairments. Clinical services are provided within UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and in our outpatient clinics. Our neuropsychologists work closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams and other UNC departments/programs, including Neurology,Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Sports Medicine, as well as community providers. Typical diagnoses prompting referral include mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, autoimmune disease, neurodegenerative disorders, cognitive changes associated with cancer and cancer treatment, cognitive changes following COVID-19, and other forms of acquired brain dysfunction. We also provide surgical evaluations for epilepsy, DBS, and organ transplant surgeries, and neuropsychological services to former professional football players. In-patients with acute or chronic neurocognitive impairment are evaluated to aid in patient care and discharge planning. Our Neuropsychology program provides training experiences for graduate students, psychology interns, and fellows as well as resident physicians, and clinical teaching is a valued part of our work. Faculty will also be expected to participate in administrative activities and research associated with their academic appointment and areas of expertise.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in clinical psychology/neuropsychology and should be licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina and board certified or eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and have the desire to be involved in enhancing quality of patient care. Qualified candidates will have completed an APA-approved clinical internship with a neuropsychology emphasis, have at least two years of supervised postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology, and will be licensed or license-eligible in the state of North Carolina.

The Department of Neurology at Yale University is accepting applications for a Neuropsychologist at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor. This is a clinically focused position that will focus on evaluating adults with concussions/traumatic brain injuries. This will be part of a comprehensive concussion program with a neuropsychologist who is well versed in current research, incorporates PVT/SVTs, and follows practices consistent with the position papers put forth by the major neuropsychological associations (e.g., AACN, NAN, etc.). In addition, the position will include opportunities for teaching psychology practicum students, medical students, residents and fellows; and participation in clinical research activities.

Candidates must have a PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA/CPA approved program, an APA/CPA Approved Internship, completed a formal two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology, be eligible for licensure in Connecticut, and be ABPP board certified or board eligible (completed within 5 years of hire) in Clinical Neuropsychology. The Department of Neurology at Ochsner/LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana seeks a certified neuropsychologist eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana. This is for a full-time faculty position at an academic rank determined by level of experience and qualifications. We have a particular need for Epilepsy surgery screening as well as screening for patients eligible for deep brain stimulation. The successful candidate is expected to have an active role in medical student and Neurology resident education and to participate in grand rounds as well as didactic conferences. Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse II/ ECT Department Intake Coordinator provides professional nursing care to patients and families. The Intake Coordinator conducts telephone assessments regarding hospital admissions, communicates information regarding admissions to prospective patients and families and the RNPH ECT Department, provides information to insurance companies regarding the clinical rationale for admission and coordinates admissions and transfers into the inpatient programs from outside sources and various referrals. The intake coordinator provides information about programs available at RNPH to patients and families. The intake coordinator serves as a liaison between the patients and families awaiting ECT treatment, keeping patients and families (when appropriate) updated regarding timeframes. The Intake Coordinator works collaboratively with Admissions Office financial counselors to obtain insurance clearance and collaborates with Admissions Coordinator RNs.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current active California R.N. licensure and clinical skills applicable to nursing specialty.
6 months clinical experience in an acute psychiatric setting, required
Previous Utilization Review and ECT experience, highly desired
ACLS, required
BLS – American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross, required
BSN or MSN, required
ANCC Board Certification, preferred
