Our work consists of outpatient neuropsychological evaluations of adults and older adults, as well as a minority of adolescent cases. Referrals typically come from area neurologists, primary care physicians, and psychiatrists. Forensic work is available.

Our group consists of five neuropsychologists, six technicians, and three office staff in two locations. We are committed to bringing on a colleague who is either board-certified or intends to become board certified in the near future. We are pleased to provide support for board certification expenses.

The position is full-time and includes numerous benefits (health insurance, retirement plan with matching employer contribution, malpractice insurance, licensure renewal fees, and support for board certification costs). The practice provides all necessary office space, furniture, computer hardware and software, technician labor, and testing materials. We have excellent administrative, IT, and billing support as well.

Psychology Department

The Psychologist in this position within Children’s Hospital, both with general neurology, neurosurgery, genetics, and the epilepsy service, and involves collaborative work within those services to provide neuropsychological assessments to patients (i) with a range of neurological disorders and (ii) patients awaiting epilepsy surgery. The individual reports to the Manager, Psychology.

Rate of Pay: $47.887 per hour – $59.860 per hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with authorization in Clinical Neuropsychology with children and adolescents
  • Recent experience assessing patients with neurological disorders
  • Recent experience assessing patients prior to epilepsy surgery (preferred)
  • Recent experience working in a hospital setting (preferred)
  • Recent experience in supervising a psychometrist
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, PHIPA, HCCA)

Functions as a relatively autonomous Neuropsychologist in administering and scoring neuropsychological test batteries (including cognitive and personality test instruments) to SOF personnel.
