We are excited to announce an opening for a full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist in our growing team in the Division of Psychology at Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando, FL.

The focus of this full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist position is to provide neuropsychological services within our active outpatient medical specialty clinics and clinical programs. This individual will provide care for children and adolescents who present with a wide range of diagnoses, including traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, concussion, genetic/metabolic disorders, pediatric cancer, and a wide variety of acquired brain disorders. The position includes collaboration with a range of medical specialists and multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. oncology, PMR, ENT, Neurology), including coordination with behavioral health providers. Both consultation and liaison, as well as team participation, are valued, service models. The neuropsychologist’s expectations are primarily clinical, and as this will be a new position there will be ample opportunity for program development. Additionally,  we welcome applicants who may also have a secondary interest in participating in our
training programs and/or clinical research. This neuropsychologist will work closely with a designated 1.0 psychometrist.

Required qualifications include:
* A Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA or CPA accredited clinical psychology program
* APA or CPA accredited internship training
* 2- year postdoctoral specialty training in clinical neuropsychology, in accordance with Houston Conference guidelines
* Licensure or license eligibility in the State of Florida
* Candidates should be board certified or eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology with the expectation that subspecialty certification in pediatric neuropsychology through ABPP will be completed.

Preference will be given to candidates who have training consistent with the Houston Conference guidelines or meet neuropsychology training guidelines accepted by INS, NAN, and Division 40 of APA.

We are looking for a sports neuropsychologist to join our team at our flagship center in Sacramento, CA. Our Sports Medicine Center is located in Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento. Here the same doctors who care for the Sacramento Kings, along with our team of physical therapists and sports trainers, work collaboratively to provide comprehensive care in a state-of-the-art rehabilitative environment.

 

The sports neuropsychologist is instrumental in supporting the concussion program aimed at getting student athletes back to school and sport in compliance with CA Laws. The program provides integrated multispecialty care and collaboration between neuropsychology, vestibular PT, sports medicine MDs, neurology, pediatrics, and athletic trainers. Neuropsychology, Physical Therapy, Certified Athletic Trainers, and Sports Medicine MD’s are all located within the same facility at the Sports Medicine Center. The sports neuropsychologist is also a part of the North Valley neuropsychology team. Part of this role also includes supervising postdoctoral residents.

 

In this role, you will provide complete and appropriate neuropsychological evaluations for a wide variety of neurosurgical, neurological, psychiatric, neurorehabilitation and general medical/surgical patients and their families. Collaborates with treating physician/ psychiatric and allied health professional team to plan and direct each individual members treatment program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs neuropsychological and/or neurobehavioral evaluation of patients with actual and suspected neurological diseases and disorders, as well as patients with psychiatric disorders, and pediatric and adult general medical patients with psychological or neuropsychological symptoms.
  • Provides direct intervention with patients, specific to neuropsychological issues, including psychotherapy and/or family therapy where indicated. Treatment may include direct intervention and program development as well as consultation with other professionals and family members.
  • Consults with regard to cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation for patients with neurological disorders, e.g. aneurysm, stroke and traumatic brain injury. May act as a liaison between psychiatry and other medical departments to develop appropriate triage and treatment programs for patients with complex medical and psychological/psychosocial needs. Participates in clinical activities with neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists and physiatrists.
  • Conducts capacity evaluations when requested by physicians. Prepares complete written assessment reports that may serve as legal documents. Utilizes relevant social service agencies, private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the members treatment. Provides clinical supervision to pre-doctoral psychology interns, postdoctoral psychology fellows, and other mental health trainees or medical residents as necessary.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:  Provides clinical supervision to pre-doctoral psychology interns, postdoctoral psychology fellows, and other mental health trainees or medical residents as necessary.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

  • One year predoctoral internship with specialized training in neuropsychology. 2000 hours of formal post-doctoral training program in neuropsychology in medical settings with neurology, neurorehabilitation and/or neurosurgical services. Or an equivalent combination of training, supervision and experience.

Education

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D in psychology from an accredited university or professional school approved by the American Psychological Association, including didactic and experimental training in neuropsychology and psychopathology.

License, Certification, Registration

  • Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of hire
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire

Additional Requirements:

  • Documented experience dealing with a wide variety of neurosurgical, neurological, psychiatric and general medical/surgical patients.
  • Documented experience working as a primary member of an interdisciplinary team in a neurorehabilitation setting.
  • Knowledge of social services agencies, state regulations and APA standards as they relate to client treatment, patient rights and client/patient confidentiality, and other ethical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently without direct clinical supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • If not licensed in CA at hire, must be licensed to practice in a state in the United States and able to practice under Business and Professional Code Section 2946 (maximum of 180 days subject to the specifics of the regulation).

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D or terminal degree with at least three years of experience. They must be a licensed clinical psychologist and have experience in the evaluation of cognition and behavior including learning and memory.  Interest in the perioperative setting will be necessary. Experience in research data management and platform establishment will be a plus.

The Department of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine is recruiting a Neuropsychologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This primarily clinical position will focus on the assessment of adults with movement disorders including candidacy evaluations for surgical therapies (e.g., DBS; FUS). The selected candidate will be a core faculty member collaborating with our dedicated movement disorders team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work in an exceptional multidisciplinary clinic. The position includes opportunities for clinical research and teaching (externs; postdocs; medical residents).

The neuropsychology division consists of ten faculty of whom four are Spanish speaking/bilingual neuropsychologists. Ideal candidates should hold a PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA/CPA approved program, have completed a formal two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology, be license-eligible in Connecticut, and be ABPP board certified or board eligible in Clinical Neuropsychology. Cone Health’s Pain Management and Rehab is seeking full-time Neuropsychologists in Greensboro, NC. This position involves the coordination and provision of outpatient and inpatient neuropsychological evaluations of adult patients who are referred for neurocognitive assessments.

Highlights:

·         This position serves young adult (18+), adult and geriatric.

·         Referrals are multi-disciplinary from neurology and primary care.

·         Patient populations include dementia, movement disorders, epilepsy, concussion/TBI, as well as a broad range of medical and psychiatric disorders that may affect cognitive function.

·         A full-time psychometrist assists in test administration and scoring.

Qualifications: Required

·         Post –doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology or 1- 2 years of supervised neuropsychology experience.

·         Two years clinical practice in brain injury and/or stroke rehabilitation.

·         Current Licensure in good standing as a Psychologist in the State of North Carolina.

·         Must be able to obtain privileges as a member of the Moses Cone Health System Allied Health Professional Staff

·         BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
