Akron Children’s Hospital is a pediatric/lifespan neuropsychologist for full-time positions specializing in neuropsychological assessment of children of all ages. These positions are administratively housed in the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and services are provided in the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center, which includes Neurology, Neurosurgery, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, and Physiatry. These positions offer a unique opportunity to join an existing team of neuropsychologist and to specialize in patients with Neurofibromatosis, patients from our neuro-oncology program, patients admitted to our intensive inpatient and day rehabilitation programs, and/or patients with congenital heart defects.  Specialization will be dependent on candidate interest, and additional opportunities for specialization may be available upon request. There are also opportunities to provide general neuropsychological services for children and families dealing with epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, metabolic disorders, cranio-facial disorders, Turner Syndrome, genetic disorders, renal transplantation clearance evaluations, and long-term effects of perinatal issues.  The neuropsychology service is supported by full-time psychometricians.

There are excellent clinical and research opportunities for collaboration with pediatric neuropsychologists and psychologists, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals as members of the multidisciplinary team, and the Neuropsychology Service maintains an active and large database comprised of every patient seen. Academic appointment appropriate to rank is provided through Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and all licensed psychologists are members of the Medical Staff at Akron Children’s Hospital and serve on hospital committees. Supervision, teaching, and training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in neuropsychology (APPCN) and psychology (APPIC), pediatric medical residents, developmental behavioral pediatrics fellows, and child psychiatry fellows are integral components of position responsibilities.

MaineHealth Pediatric Specialty Care is looking for a full-time Neuropsychologist Supervisor. The new hire would perform neuropsychological assessments and evaluations, specialized psychological interventions for individuals with documented neuropsychological related disorders and/or conditions affecting CNS functioning and participate actively in the educational mission of the hospital, which may include supervision, teaching, and consultation with psychology trainees, psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees. The neuropsychologist also provides supervision of licensed psychologists in the MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland Department of Pediatrics for 20 percent of scheduled hours.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Advanced skills in neuropsychology evaluation, treatment, and consultation acquired through the completion of a doctoral program accredited by the American Psychological Association, or equivalent, as recognized by the Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and all required predoctoral, internship, and postdoctoral training.

Experience: The equivalent of two years (full time)  of experience and specialized training, at least one of which is at the post-doctoral level, in the study and practice of clinical neuropsychology and related neurosciences. These two years include supervision by a clinical neuropsychologist.
A minimum of two additional years of clinical experience providing neuropsychological services in a medical/clinical setting.
Necessary personal, professional, and interpersonal skills required to conduct neuropsychological evaluations and interventions with patients and their families as well as to work effectively as a member of the health care team.

Neuro- Rehabilitation Psychologist

Adult Neuropsychologist Position

New York University Langone Health (NYULH), Department of Neurology is recruiting an early- to early-mid career full-time adult neuropsychologist.  In addition to neuropsychological assessment within the Department of Neurology Faculty Group Practice, the neuropsychologist will engage in the educational activities of the Neuropsychology Division, which spans the Department of Neurology clinical specialty divisions and campuses within the NYULH enterprise.

NEXCSS-MH Memory Disorders Program Staff Neuropsychologist

I.                   General Description:

The National Expert Consultation & Specialized Services-Mental Health (NEXCSS-MH) Memory Disorders Program Staff Neuropsychologist (1.0 FTE) position is located in the Neurology Service of the VA Boston Healthcare System, mainly at the Jamaica Plain campus but occasionally the Brockton campus. All clinical appointments are, however, held virtually using either (1) VA Video Connect (VVC) to the patient’s home, (2) telephone to the patient’s home, or (3) TeleHealth to the patient’s local VA medical center or community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC), such that the psychologist can often work from their home. The psychologist will provide direct clinical care (including interviews, cognitive testing, and full neuropsychological evaluations) and engage in training of pre-doctoral practicum students/research assistants and physician fellows within Neurology, Psychiatry, and Geriatrics. The psychologist will also participate in research, Cognitive Behavioral Neurology and Memory Disorders Clinic meetings, and program evaluation.

 

II.                Citiznenship/Licensure/Experience.

Must be a citizen of the United States (US). Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the US (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. Have at least 2 years of experience as (1) a neuropsychology fellow in an accredited neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship program, or (2) a psychologist, with at least one year at the equivalent to the next lower grade level.

III.             Clinical Responsibilities (80-90% of time)

Direct Service Provision: Provides a full range of neuropsychological assessment services including clinical interviewing, neuropsychological assessment and psychometric assessment for veterans referred to the VA NEXCSS-MH Memory Disorders Program, (more commonly known as the TeleMemory Clinic). Performs evaluations for adult veterans with a of neurological and psychological disorders referred to the NEXCSS-MH Memory Disorders Program including dementia, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy/seizure, attention deficit, stroke, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, and personality disorders. Provides clinical supervision to psychological practicum students/research assistants including weekly supervision, observation opportunities, and review of reports. Provides clinical supervision and observation opportunities to physician fellows in the Neurology, Psychiatry, and Geriatrics services. Consults with other NEXCSS- MH Memory Disorders Program staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Completes administrative functions, including report and progress note writing, and attending relevant NEXCSS-MH Memory Disorders Program staff and VA Boston Cognitive Behavioral Neurology organizational meetings. Participates in didactic teaching relevant to neuropsychology.

IV.             Academic/Research/Teaching/Training (10-20% effort)

Candidates who are interested in furthering or starting an academic research career are preferred, with a goal of obtaining career development awards or independent grant funding. These awards and grants can reduce clinical workload by up to 90% Research projects should be relevant to NEXCSS-MH Memory Disorders Program, VA Boston Cognitive Behavioral Neurology Section, and the Center for Translational Cognitive Neuroscience (CTCN). About the position
We have a full-time (or 2 part-time openings) outpatient position for a licensed, preferably board-
certified clinical neuropsychologist.

Primary Role
This is a clinical lead position with evaluation and management patient care responsibilities that
include overseeing a team of clinicians and technicians involved in each patient’s care,

Brain Imaging

in brain mapping, responsibilities will include interpreting resting and active state brain mapping
results. Active electrical neuroimaging is completed via cognitive event potential during
neuropsychological testing. Training in resting state and functional neuroimaging for those
qualified candidates is also an option for those pediatric neuropsychologists interested in this
area of clinical neurodiagnostics.

For those candidates with prior director-level experience, job entry at the associate-director level
for the Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic and Treatment Center at NCBI is a possibility. We are
also willing to train a seasoned clinician for this role for those who are seeking a higher level of
responsibility in addition to providing direct care.

Clinical Research
Additionally, there are plenty of opportunities to work as a sub-investigator or PI (for those
candidates with the appropriate research experience) on one or more clinical research studies.
Clinical research trials include neuroimaging, neuromodulation and drug treatment trials across a
number of clinical neuroscience studies. We have a long-history of conducting both private-
company sponsored as well as investigator initiated clinical research studies. We strongly support the clinical research interests of our investigators.

Inpatient Consultations
Consultation and Liaison inpatient services are available for those candidates interested in
performing inpatient work.

Supervision
Supervisory responsibilities are available for those interested in supervising, externs, interns,
post-doctoral residents and fellows in clinical neuropsychology, technicians and mental health
clinicians.

Patient Population
All patients coming into this center receive initial intakes/biopsychosocial histories,
neurosensory, neurobehavioral, psychiatric, functional assessments, and comprehensive
neuropsychological testing. Specialized assessments include evaluations for Autism, ADHD,
Learning Disabilities, Language Disorders, Intellectual Disorders, Tourette’s syndrome, OCD,
ANS disorders as well as specialized evaluations for acquired and traumatic brain injury,
neurodegenerative and sleep disorders as well as neuropsychiatric syndromes and disorders.

Other neurodiagnostic procedures include brain mapping using resting and active electrical
neuroimaging for patients to help confirm the cortical dysfunction hypotheses generated by the
cortical functional assessment. Additionally, metabolic, micronutrient, genetic and other labs are
often used in the diagnostic work up. Treatments available at NCBI are plentiful and include,
behavioral therapy, individual, group and family psychotherapies, cognitive rehabilitation and
SPL therapy, psychotropic medications, behavioral health interventions and non-invasive
neuromodulation treatments approved for conditions such as ADHD.

As described below, we have 5 centers represented at each of our 4 outpatient centers in New
Jersey that serve patients and their families presenting with neurodevelopmental,
neuropsychiatric, sleep and neurodegenerative disorders as well as with acquired and traumatic
brain injuries. Common disorders diagnosed and treated at NCBI include: ADHD, Autism,
neuropsychiatric syndromes secondary to acquired and traumatic brain injuries, mood disorders,
somatoform disorders, OCD and Tourette’s syndrome, as well as psychotic and personality
disorders, sleep disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.

Locations
This position can be based out of our Voorhees, NJ clinical location with virtual remote coverage
at our other locations in our Livingston, NJ clinic at the RWJ Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care
Center, Mt. Arlington, NJ, and Bedminster NJ. We are also interviewing applicants who prefer a
virtual-remote position. NCBI is currently licensed in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Georgia, Illinois, New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Louisianna, and Florida.

Qualifications
You must be licensed in your current state as a clinical (neuro)psychologist and be board
certified or eligible for board certification (e.g. ABCN in pediatrics) with the capability of
becoming licensed in NJ and the other states listed within a few months of your hire and have or
be eligible for CMS credentialing. Our team helps the clinical staff complete all the licensing

in brain mapping, responsibilities will include interpreting resting and active state brain mapping
results. Active electrical neuroimaging is completed via cognitive event potential during
neuropsychological testing. Training in resting state and functional neuroimaging for those
qualified candidates is also an option for those pediatric neuropsychologists interested in this
area of clinical neurodiagnostics.

For those candidates with prior director-level experience, job entry at the associate-director level
for the Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic and Treatment Center at NCBI is a possibility. We are
also willing to train a seasoned clinician for this role for those who are seeking a higher level of
responsibility in addition to providing direct care.

Clinical Research
Additionally, there are plenty of opportunities to work as a sub-investigator or PI (for those
candidates with the appropriate research experience) on one or more clinical research studies.
Clinical research trials include neuroimaging, neuromodulation and drug treatment trials across a
number of clinical neuroscience studies. We have a long-history of conducting both private-
company sponsored as well as investigator initiated clinical research studies. We strongly support
the clinical research interests of our investigators.

Inpatient Consultations
Consultation and Liaison inpatient services are available for those candidates interested in
performing inpatient work.

Supervision
Supervisory responsibilities are available for those interested in supervising, externs, interns,
post-doctoral residents and fellows in clinical neuropsychology, technicians and mental health
clinicians.

Patient Population
All patients coming into this center receive initial intakes/biopsychosocial histories,
neurosensory, neurobehavioral, psychiatric, functional assessments, and comprehensive
neuropsychological testing. Specialized assessments include evaluations for Autism, ADHD,
Learning Disabilities, Language Disorders, Intellectual Disorders, Tourette’s syndrome, OCD,
ANS disorders as well as specialized evaluations for other neuropsychiatric syndromes and
disorders.

Other neurodiagnostic procedures include brain mapping using resting and active electrical
neuroimaging for pediatric and adolescent patients to help confirm the cortical dysfunction
hypotheses generated by the cortical functional assessment. Additionally, metabolic,
micronutrient, genetic and other labs are often used in the diagnostic work up. Treatments
available at NCBI are plentiful and include, behavioral therapy, individual, group and family
psychotherapies, cognitive rehabilitation and SPL therapy, psychotropic medications, behavioral
health interventions and non-invasive neuromodulation treatments approved for conditions such
as ADHD.

As described below, we have 5 centers represented at each of our 4 outpatient centers in New
Jersey that serve patients and their families presenting with neurodevelopmental,
neuropsychiatric, sleep and neurodegenerative disorders as well as with acquired and traumatic
brain injuries. Common disorders diagnosed and treated at NCBI include: ADHD, Autism,
neuropsychiatric syndromes secondary to acquired and traumatic brain injuries, mood disorders,
somatoform disorders, OCD and Tourette’s syndrome, as well as psychotic and personality
disorders, sleep disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
Locations
This position can be based out of our Voorhees, NJ clinical location with virtual remote coverage
at our other locations in our Livingston, NJ clinic at the RWJ Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care
Center, Mt. Arlington, NJ, and Bedminster NJ. We are also interviewing applicants who prefer a
virtual-remote position. NCBI is currently licensed in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Georgia, Illinois, New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Louisianna, and Florida.

Qualifications
You must be licensed in your current state as a clinical (neuro)psychologist and be board
certified or eligible for board certification (e.g. ABCN in pediatrics) with the capability of
becoming licensed in NJ and the other states listed within a few months of your hire and have or
be eligible for CMS credentialing. Our team helps the clinical staff complete all the licensing
requirements. We are seeking applicants who have completed an accredited post-doctoral
fellowship/residency program in pediatric clinical neuropsychology / neurodevelopmental
disorders or have developed an expertise in diagnosing and treating these disorders. Your Ph.D.

must be in clinical psychology, either a generalized program or specialized pediatric program and
not from other disciplines within psychology.
