The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a clinical neuropsychologist to provide evaluation and treatment services with rehabilitation patients. Rank and track will be dependent upon the selected applicant’s qualifications. The role will support outpatient evaluation and consultation services for individuals with a history of concussion/brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, and other neurologic conditions. The role also provides support for inpatient coverage, as needed. Inpatient coverage includes coordinating with inpatient rehabilitation psychologists and treatment teams to address evaluation and treatment recommendations. Both services operate on a psychometrist model. This position may also include coordination with other providers/departments to support neuropsychological evaluation needs within the University of Utah.

Both independent and collaborative research opportunities and support are available.
The position involves teaching and supervising neuropsychology post-doctoral fellows within our APPCN-member fellowship program and of practicum students.
Education requirements include completion of a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited graduate school, completion of a one-year internship at an APA- accredited program, and completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology according to published guidelines (i.e., Houston Conference) for specialization in clinical neuropsychology. Board certification in clinical neuropsychology within 5 years of hire is strongly encouraged.

Neuropsychologist Opportunity –Danbury, CT (60 miles from NYC)

Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, has as exciting opportunity in our growing Neuroscience Institute for a full-time Neuropsychologist in both New York and Connecticut locations.  New York practice are located in the suburban Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York State, just 75 minutes north of New York City and along the Hudson River. This is a long established and large practice that includes neurologists, physician assistants, and neuropsychologists, part of the larger 7 hospital Nuvance Health network. This position will require some traveling to our NY location in Poughkeepsie, NY.

The neuropsychologist is responsible for performing outpatient evaluations of adults and older adolescents with neurological disorders. We see a large number of individuals with neurodegenerative conditions, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, and stroke. We see patients from several multidisciplinary clinics including outpatient neurology, movement disorders, stroke, headache and concussion/TBI clinics. The neuropsychology service also sees individuals with epilepsy and seizure disorders. We perform pre and post-operative assessments for individuals undergoing DBS placement surgery and shunt placement in NPH. We have approximately 10 clinical trials with Co-PI potential. Our robust academic medical center includes neuropsychology trainees, neurology residents, medical students, and incoming neuropsychologists will have opportunity for supervision. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1.      Education: Doctoral degree from a program in professional psychology which at the time the degree was granted was accredited by the American Psychological Association, CPA, or was listed in the publication Doctoral Psychology Programs Meeting Designation Criteria. Two years of postdoctoral training consistent with the Houston Conference guidelines for specialty training in Clinical Neuropsychology.

The equivalent of two years (full-time) postdoctoral experience and specialized training in the study and practice of clinical neuropsychology and related neurosciences supervised by a board certified clinical neuropsychologist.

4.      Abilities: Necessary personal, professional, and interpersonal skills required to conduct neuropsychological evaluations and interventions with patients and their families as well as to work effectively as a member of a diverse health care team.
