We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our team. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeing more need for neuropsychiatric assessments. With this demand increasing, we aim to bring a clinical neuropsychologist on board to work directly with our providers to help us better understand and care for our patients. You will be the only psychologist practicing in our group and will be expected to work independently. You will have access to the neurology providers for any additional information that you may not have gained during your encounter with the patient and our providers will appreciate your direct communication.

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility will include conducting appropriate neuropsychiatric assessments for patients with cognitive concerns. Most assessments will be patients of advanced age with progressing cognitive dysfunction.
We will request assistance determining if patients have dysfunction concerning for various types of dementias. With the new medications coming to market for Alzheimer’s Disease we are particularly interested in identifying patients with memory loss consistent with this diagnosis.
We may seek assistance in identifying patients who need help with decision making such as Power of Attorney or conservatorship assignment.
We also see a large population of Parkinson’s Disease and will request a candidacy assessment for Deep Brain Stimulation.
We anticipate direct patient care a minimum of 4 days per week.

Qualifications:

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
Current licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of CO.
Experience conducting neuropsychological assessments with a focus on memory loss and cognitive disorders.
Desire to work with an older population.
Ability to work independently as the single psychology practitioner among this practice.
Preferred: Board certification or eligibility in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP-CN or equivalent).

ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR of CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited degree program and APA internship with license-eligibility in Texas. Candidates should also provide evidence of strong research and interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring graduate students. We especially seek candidates interested in joining a department with a Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in underserved populations. Our program focuses on geropsychology, veteran’s issues, and rural mental health. As a relatively new PhD program, our clinical psychology PhD program recently received contingent accreditation from APA in health service psychology. We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in clinical neuropsychology and geropsychology, broadly applied.

In addition to campus and department resources, UT Tyler has a funded community-based research center, the Memory and Assessment Research Center (MARC) that is partnered with the Alzheimer’s Alliance facility and provides ample clinical access and research data in the area of neuropsychology, geropsychology, and dementia. The department has a vibrant undergraduate program offering both a B. S. and B. A. psychology degree with an enrollment of 400 undergraduate students. We also have three graduate master’s-level degree programs in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP), and School Counseling in addition to the PhD program in clinical psychology. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester Medical Center is recruiting a clinically-active Neuropsychologist to join our outpatient interdisciplinary team.  Clinical responsibilities include neuropsychological assessment in our multidisciplinary outpatient PM&R service as well as the outpatient neuropsychology service. Research Activities (.50 FTE)

The successful candidate will also engage in an original, competitive, and independently funded research program of international caliber that will seek to understand the bio-psychological underpinnings of clinical symptoms, neuropsychological function, and behaviour across children and youth with neurodevelopmental and neurogenetic disorders, including NF1. The research focus should be related to several areas that are relevant to the Precision Child Health Strategy advancing personalized care for patients with neurodevelopmental or rare neurogenetic conditions and could include research in diagnosis or treatment innovation, applying a range of methodologies such as neuropsychological and/ or neuroimaging approaches.

The successful candidate will be appointed within the Associate-Scientist Track stream in the Research Institute with a performance-based opportunity to seek reclassification to an Associate Scientist appointment at the end of the Associate Scientist-track 4-year term.  They will be expected to qualify for an academic cross-appointment in an appropriate department at the University of Toronto enabling: (a) direct supervision of students, postdoctoral fellows, and research associates; and (b) work with students/post-docs to prepare scientific manuscripts, grant applications, and/or drafts of patent applications.  Synergy with the Developmental Assessment of Genetically Susceptible Youth (DAGSY) Clinic and the academic program of the successful candidate will be fostered considering the common focus on clinical research in neurodevelopmental/neurogenetic disorders.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:

·       Design and implement coordinated and timely consultations and screening, targeted and comprehensive assessments to relate current cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning to a child’s medical and neurodevelopmental history and treatments.

·       Write reports with recommendations.

·       Provide feedback to families and clinic teams.

·       Provide specialized intervention and standardized follow-up for patients within a rigorous Precision Child Health approach

·       Provide consultation to school teams, rehabilitation providers, and other health and educational professionals.

·       Complement and extend the health care team’s ability to meet the psychosocial needs of the child and family.

·       Work collaboratively as a member of the health care team.

·       Actively engage in clinical research being conducted, program development and quality initiatives.   

·       Integrate research and practice.

·       Clinical triage and waitlist monitoring and management.

·       Supervise clinical trainees.

Here’s What You’ll Need

·       Ph.D. in Clinical or Neuropsychology from a CPA or APA accredited program or equivalent.

·       Post-doctoral training in Neuropsychology. Preference will be given to candidates who are Board Certified or Board eligible through the American Board of Professional Psychology ABPP-CN.

·       Registration/eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with Neuropsychology with children/adolescents as a declared area of competency.

·       Training in the scientist/clinician model of care.

·       Excellent problem-solving, time management, written, and oral communication skills.

·       Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

·       Proficiency in psychological assessment and diagnosis of children age 4-18, with developmental and medical conditions.

·       Proficiency with interviewing and educating families.

·       Evidence-based care and practice.

·       Initiative and passion to integrate research and clinical practice.

·       The applicant must have significant research experience (i.e., at least 2 years postdoctoral)

·       A record of outstanding scientific accomplishment and innovation related to developmental neuropsychology and neurodevelopmental/neurogenetic disorders.

·       Applicants are expected to demonstrate evidence of successful research funding (peer-reviewed grants, fellowships, etc.), publications in leading journals, presentations at significant conferences, and increasing leadership experience in a research team.

·       Applicants should have a strong track record of productivity and innovation in research focused on neuropsychological outcomes of neurodevelopmental and neurogenetic disorders.

·       Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
